OnePlus Open Has A Wide Display Aspect Ratio Making It A Tablet: Challenging Galaxy Z Fold5 Or Oppo Find N2?
OnePlus should launch its first-ever foldable Android smartphone this year. It appears the "Flagship Killer" brand is trying to offer the convenience of a compact smartphone and the broader display of a tablet when unfolded.
While OnePlus may have admitted it is working on the OnePlus Open foldable Android smartphone, the brand has been silent on the details. Leaked renders of the upcoming OnePlus foldable phone have revealed several key aspects.

OnePlus Open Is Shorter But Wider Indicate Leaked Renders
A new set of OnePlus Open renders leaked this week. Some reports suggest they are based on pre-production unit visuals.
Rumors claim OnePlus has been actively scouting for a reliable screen manufacturer, and the new renders suggest they may have altered the display aspects of the OnePlus Open. A quick side-by-side comparison reveals how drastically the aspect ratio of the phone (especially when closed) has changed.

It appears OnePlus abandoned the screen manufacturer who supplied displays for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5. Instead, OnePlus may have gone to the screen maker who supplied displays for the Oppo Find N2.
The most obvious and drastic change in the OnePlus Open appears to be its aspect ratio. The foldable may have abandoned the conventional foldable smartphone design.
The OnePlus Open could turn out to be a compact smartphone with a diminutive display, and turn into a tablet with a shorter but broader display when the inner screen is unfolded.
OnePlus Open Could Be The Best Foldable Smartphone For Photography Enthusiasts?
The majority of foldable smartphone manufacturers have focused on the foldable screen, the hinge that helps unfold the display, and other aspects. However, these devices aren't known to offer good imaging and videography hardware.
The OnePlus Open could be the leader in the foldable smartphone segment, especially with its camera hardware, the leaked renders have indicated. The three camera sensors embedded in the housing have an "H" engraved in the largely empty space.

The "H" confirms the imaging hardware of the OnePlus Open is finetuned by Hasselblad. Hence it should offer top-notch photography performance, like the other OnePlus smartphones.
The LED flash is visible in the top corner of the rear. An additional sensor underneath the Hasselblad branding could be a Time-of-Flight (ToF) or LiDAR sensor.
OnePlus and Oppo are deeply intertwined and share a close relationship. Hence, it might not be a surprise if the OnePlus Open is a rebranded Oppo Find N3, just to help OnePlus establish its presence in the foldable market from its first device.
