OnePlus To Open More Experience Stores in North India
With an aim to expand its offline presence in India, OnePlus has partnered with Redington India. The partnership will allow OnePlus to increase its presence in North India and North East India. In particular, Northen towns like Chandigarh, Agra, Lucknow, Patna, and Ludhiana, to Eastern cities such as Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, and Kolkata, as well as cities in the Northwest region such as Jaipur, Indore, Raipur, and Bhopal.
In addition, the company is planning to open 100 new OnePlus Experience Stores in the top 50 cities by the year 2020, including with tier 2 cities as well. Besides, the company has tied up Reliance Digital across 600 stores countrywide. Under this partnership, Reliance Digital is also offering cashback up to Rs.7000 on HDFC cards, no-cost EMI options, extended warranty on OnePlus TVs.
"There is still about 65 percent of the Indian population which are heavily offline based, and prefer to touch and feel a product before making a final purchase. Till now, the OnePlus TV was exclusively online, but now we're taking it offline exclusively through Reliance Digital," Oneplus, head of India operations, Vikas Agarwal was quoted by ET.
According to the report, the smartphone brand is claiming to have a 42 percent share of the premium smart TV segment. "We're increasing our in-shop promoters from 300 at present, who can help consumers understand the product when they see it in offline stores," Agarwal told the newspaper. On the other hand, the smartphone is likely to start producing smart TVs in India by the end of this year. So, that it can cater to the large section in India.
As we all know that Oneplus is very popular in India. The smartphone company is giving a tough fight to brands like Apple and Samsung in the premium segment. But, now this move by the company seems that it is all set to give a tough fight to brands in the smart TVs segment as well.
