OnePlus X Launched At Rs 16,999 Featuring 5 inch AMOLED display and Snapdragon 801
After much speculations the mid-range handset from OnePlus is now official. Dubbed the OnePlus X the device falls in category of premium looking device, thanks to its all glass design with metal to the edges.
The OnePlus X comes a similar design language to that followed Sony. Under the hood of the device is a 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 SoC coupled with an Adreno 330 GPU. Add to that the presence of 3GB RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. The internals are apparently similar to the one seen in the last generation OnePlus One.

Unlike in the case of OnePlus 2, the company has paid attention to details while designing their new smartphone. In fact the Chinese smartphone maker is designating their all new device as a fashionable product.
On the front of the device is a 5 inch Full HD (1920x1080) AMOLED panel along with a 8MP selfie snapper using OV8858 f/2.4 wide angles sensor up top. The front camera is complimented by a 13MP f/2.2 camera on the back which comes with a Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and a single LED flash. For protection OnePlus had used Gorilla Glass 3 in both the front and rear glass panels. The 13MP camera which sits flush on the back is capable of recording Full HD (1080p) and HD (720p) at 30fps. Sadly, there no support for capturing 4K footage.
OnePlus has succeeded to keep this device rather thin at 6.8 mm despite including a 2525mAh battery on the inside. There have also included a MicroSD card slot onto this ‘thin' device, thereby making it a sweeter deal. Nevertheless the device mayn't be breaking any records when it comes to ‘thinness'.
Just like the OnePlus 2, the new device from the company comes with ‘Alert Slider". It will basically allow you to toggle between All Notifications, No Notifications and Priority Notifications.
The OnePlus X runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 with the company's own Oxygen OS 2.1 on top. Further much to the thrill of all the fashionista out there OnePlus has decided to launch a Ceramic version of the device. Apparently this glass panels have been replaced with Ceramic in this variant. The OnePlus X comes with Hybrid SIM slot (Nano + Nano).
The pricing for the two devices are markedly different though. While the OnePlus X Onyx variant will retails at Rs 16,999, the Ceramic version is priced much higher at Rs 22,999. The device will be exclusively available in India on Amazon from November 5th via the Invite Only system. However the limited edition Ceramic version will hit stores only on November 24th.

Alongside the device OnePlus has introduced a number of rear cases for the device - Rosewood, Black Apricot, Bamboo, Karbon and Sandstone. The Chinese OEM has also announced a new pair headphones called OnePlus Icon. The earphones come in two variants - Graphite and Gold. OnePlus hasn't come with a pricing for either of the accessories.
