OPPO A5 with Dimensity 6300 SoC, 6500 mAh Battery, 120Hz OLED Display Launched Alongside A5 Vitality Edition

OPPO has launched the OPPO A5, a budget-friendly 5G smartphone in China, succeeding last year's OPPO A3. It features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, offering up to 12GB of RAM. The device is available for pre-order in China and will be released on March 21st.

The OPPO A5 Vitality Edition comes with a slightly smaller 6.67-inch HD+ LCD screen, also boasting a 120Hz refresh rate. This variant is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and offers similar RAM options as its counterpart. Both models are designed to withstand dust and water, featuring IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings.

Specifications and Features

The OPPO A5's display supports up to 1200 nits of peak brightness, ensuring clear visibility even under bright conditions. The phone runs on Android 15 with ColorOS 15 and includes an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. It supports dual SIM cards and offers storage options ranging from 128GB to 512GB.

For photography enthusiasts, the OPPO A5 is equipped with a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP monochrome lens. The front-facing camera is an 8MP shooter suitable for selfies. Connectivity features include support for both SA/NSA 5G networks, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and NFC.

Battery and Charging

The OPPO A5 houses a robust 6500mAh battery that supports fast charging through its 45W SUPERVOOC technology. This ensures users can quickly recharge their devices when needed. Meanwhile, the Vitality Edition comes with a slightly smaller battery capacity of 5640mAh but retains the same fast-charging capability.

In terms of design dimensions, the OPPO A5 measures at approximately 161.57×74.47×7.65mm and weighs between 185g to 189g depending on the colour variant chosen (Black or Blue/Pink). The Vitality Edition has dimensions of about 164.82×75.53×7.76mm or slightly thicker at certain points.

Pricing Details

The pricing for the OPPO A5 starts at approximately Rs. 15,540 for the base model with an option extending up to Rs. 23,925 for higher configurations in China. The Vitality Edition's price ranges from Rs. 14,345 to Rs. 19,130 based on selected specifications.

The OPPO A5 will be introduced in India under the name OPPO F29 with minor specification adjustments tailored for local consumers' preferences while maintaining competitive pricing strategies within this segment.
