Chinese tech giant Oppo wants to tap every price-segment in the smartphone market. In just a week of launching the upgraded model of Oppo F1s in India, the company has now introduced Oppo A57, an affordable variant build on the lines of F1s.
The new handset is launched in the Chinese market at a price of CNY 1,599, which roughly translates to Rs. 16,000 in Indian currency. The smartphone will be available in two colour variants - Rose Gold and Gold. There's no word yet on launch of Oppo A57 in other markets.
16MP Selfie Camera and 13MP Rear Camera
The highlight of Oppo A57 is definitely its 16MP front-facing camera, designed to deliver an enhanced selfie experience. The camera has an f/2.0 aperture, comes with a wide-angle lens, and offers Beautify 4.0 Mode to brighten up the selfie shots you click.
The rear side of the smartphone has a 13MP camera with an aperture of f/2 and is accompanied by an LED flash light. The rear camera also has Phase Detection Auto Focus.
(It is worth mentioning that some sites report a 13MP front-snapper. We will update the space as soon as we get an official word from Oppo.)
5.2-inch HD Display and Unibody Metal Design
Oppo A57 sports a 5.2-inch HD (720x1280) LCD display with 2.5D curved glass. Considering the Rs. 16,000 price-point, the 720p resolution does not seems to be the right choice and can disappoint potential buyers.
Oppo A57 The smartphone also has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the physical home button on the front.
