Oppo earlier launched a new smartphone Oppo A71 in Malaysia and Pakistan. And now the Chinese handset maker has just announced the launch of the same smartphone in India. The company is further touting the new smartphone to be a powerful device with an entry-level price.
Commenting on the launch, Sky Li, President and Managing Director of International Mobile Business, Oppo said, "With A71 we aim to reach out to a greater and wider set of consumers and offer them a great camera experience. The A71 brings consumers premium photography and advanced features at an affordable price point."
While the company promises good things about the device, let's have a look at some of the features and specs of the new smartphone.
Design and Display
Oppo A71 features a metal unibody design and the company claims that is a pleasure to hold as the waist line of the phone has been inspired by the back of dolphins. The handset features round and smooth lines that are aesthetically pleasing.
The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) display and the company has said that it will offer a larger view and better perspective when playing games and watching videos.
Processors, RAM and Storage
The handset is powered by a MediaTek MT6750T octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and it is also paired with Mali-T860 MP2 GPU.
"The upgraded 64-bit Octa-Core CPU enables smoother multitasking and switching between apps. Meanwhile, the Octa-core CPU identifies the usage scenarios while working, selects different CPU accordingly, delivering a faster and more convenient experience for taking photos, watching videos and playing games," the company said in a press release.
The smartphone offers 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB with the help of a microSD card.
Cameras, Battery and Software
As for the optics, Oppo A71 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, Multi-Frame Denoising technology, and LED Flash.
Up front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture. As per the company, the front camera comes with OPPO's unique photographing arithmetic, that will deliver more natural selfies with greater detail. It has also been tweaked to perform well under weak light and a variety of filters that come with the phone enhance the playability of the phone's camera.
The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery and it runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with Color OS 3.1 skin on top. The smartphone comes with a lot of customization capabilities.
In addition, the device offers dual-SIM support, 4G, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. Sensors onboard include distance sensor, light sensor, G-sensor, and E-compass.
Oppo A71's dimensions include 148.1x73.8 x7.6 mm and it weighs 137 grams.

Oppo A71 is priced at Rs. 12,990 and it will be available on Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm and offline stores starting today, September 12, 2017. Oppo A71 is being offered in Gold and Black color options.
