The Oppo A79 5G, with model numbers CPH2553 and A303OP, was recently added to the Google Play Supported Devices list, as spotted by MySmartPrice. Prior to this, the phone also surfaced on certification websites such as TDRA, IMDA, FCC, and TUV Rheinland with the model number CPH2553. Interestingly, the appearance of the A303OP model number on the Google Play list marks a new development, suggesting that this different model might target various markets.

All these sightings on certification platforms are leading us to believe that the Oppo A79 5G is on the verge of an official launch. Though the brand has yet to make an official announcement, we can anticipate further details to be revealed soon.

Thanks to tipster Sudhanshu's insights in an Appuals report, we have a glimpse of the rumored specifications and design. The Oppo A79 5G is expected to be available in two color options: Glowing Green and Mystery Black. The back of the device might house a prominent rectangular camera module accommodating two camera rings and an LED flashlight.
In terms of display, the smartphone could feature a generous 6.72-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution, potentially supporting a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it's likely to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device is expected to run on ColorOS 13.1, based on Android 13 OS.
The Oppo A79 5G may pack a substantial 5000mAh battery with 33-watt fast charging support, ensuring long-lasting performance. In the camera department, the device could offer a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor on the rear, while the front is rumored to feature an 8MP selfie shooter.
