Oppo A79 Surfaces On TDRA After NBTC: New Budget 5G Android Smartphone To Launch In India?

The Oppo A79 5G has now appeared in the TDRA database after surfacing on the NBTC website. This strongly indicates Oppo is readying the Oppo A79 smartphone for the global markets. Oppo A79 5G Specifications, Features From TDRA And NBTC Databases

The Oppo A79 5G first appeared on the NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Council Committee) certification website. It is Thailand's certifying authority for electronic and mobile communication hardware.

Thereafter, the Oppo smartphone secured certifications from the TÜV Rheinland and IMDA certification platforms. Now the same Oppo device has appeared in the TDRA certification platform of UAE bearing model number CPH2557.

The Oppo device has received the TDRA certification with the equipment registration number ER24660/23, which will be valid till the 25th of September 2026. These certifications confirm Oppo is readying a smartphone capable of latching on to 5G networks in addition to supporting 2G, 3G, 4G & 5G network connectivity.

One of the certifying authorities has indicated the mystery Oppo smartphone has a 4800mAh rated battery, which could translate to 5000mAh in the marketing materials. The device is capable of accepting electrical charge at 33 Watts. In other words, the battery inside the upcoming Oppo smartphone supports 33W wired fast charging.

Some rumors suggest Oppo has embedded a MediaTek Dimensity chipset inside the Oppo A79 5G. The Oppo A78 5G was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, 8GB RAM, and a 5000mAh battery. It is possible Oppo may have opted for the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC for the upcoming smartphone.
