OPPO's May ColorOS 16 Update Expands in India: Check Eligible Phones and New Features
OPPO is bringing its latest ColorOS 16 update to more smartphones in India. There's a new AI assistant that pulls information from multiple AI models, better file sharing between OPPO and Apple devices, smarter document scanning, and a handful of tools aimed at making everyday tasks a little less tedious.
The rollout is already underway for eligible Find X and Reno series smartphones.

Live Space Wants to Keep You Informed Without Constantly Interrupting You
One of the first things users will notice is the updated Live Space experience.
The feature places live notifications in a capsule-style interface on the lock screen, allowing users to track ongoing activities without repeatedly opening apps. Whether it's a delivery update or another real-time notification, the goal is to surface information without cluttering the screen.

It's clearly inspired by the industry's broader move toward glanceable information, but OPPO is positioning it as a cleaner and less distracting experience.
Sharing Files Between OPPO and Apple Devices Just Got Easier
One of the more practical additions is the latest version of O+ Connect.
If you've ever had to send files between an Android phone and an iPhone, you already know it isn't always a smooth process. OPPO says O+ Connect now offers faster and more seamless file transfers between OPPO and Apple devices.
That might not sound exciting on paper, but for people who use an OPPO phone alongside an iPad or MacBook, it could end up being one of the most useful additions in the update.
AI Mind Pilot Is OPPO's New AI Hub
The biggest AI feature in ColorOS 16 is called AI Mind Pilot.
Rather than relying on a single AI model, OPPO says the system can tap into platforms such as Gemini, GPT, and Perplexity. The idea is to give users access to different AI perspectives within one interface instead of forcing them to jump between separate apps.
In practice, that could be useful when researching a topic, comparing answers, or trying to verify information from multiple sources.

It's an interesting approach because most smartphone brands are currently building around a single AI assistant. OPPO appears to be betting that users may want access to more than one.
Several AI Features Are Focused on Specific Tasks
Beyond AI Mind Pilot, ColorOS 16 introduces a collection of smaller AI-powered tools.
AI Grouping is designed for people who constantly reorganize their home screens. It can sort apps based on categories, colours, or previous layouts, making it easier to tidy up a cluttered setup.
AI Menu Translation is aimed at travellers. Instead of offering a basic translation, it tries to provide contextual information about dishes, helping users understand what they're actually ordering.
There's also AI Popout, which allows users to create 4K motion collages directly on their phones. Users can rearrange images, adjust layouts, and create animated compositions without using third-party editing software.
Meanwhile, AI Scan focuses on productivity. The feature can capture documents, clean them up, and convert them into more readable digital copies. For students and office workers who regularly scan paperwork, this could save a few extra steps.
ColorOS 16 Also Includes Smaller Quality-of-Life Improvements
Not everything in this update revolves around AI.
OPPO has also improved app-switching animations, added richer visual summaries in certain parts of the system, expanded live translation capabilities, and refined voice recording tools.
Rollout Has Already Started
The ColorOS 16 rollout is happening in phases and will continue through May 31.
