Oppo ColorOS 17 Based on Android 17 Teased: New UI, Fluid Fusion Animations and Liquid Acrylic Design

Oppo is gearing up to unveil its Android 17-based ColorOS 17 update, and the company has started teasing some of the major design and UI changes coming with the new software. The upcoming version is expected to introduce smoother animations, redesigned interface elements and a new visual design language.

Oppo has already announced the ColorOS 17 beta programme, allowing developers and app makers to test the software ahead of its wider rollout. The upcoming Oppo Find X10 series is expected to be among the first smartphones to ship with ColorOS 17.

ColorOS 17 Gets New Animation Engine

According to Oppo ColorOS Design Director Chen Xi, ColorOS 17 will introduce a new "Fluid Fusion" animation engine. The system is designed to make transitions between different screens smoother and more fluid.

The software will also introduce a new interaction feedback system. App screens can reportedly stretch, squeeze and respond dynamically based on how users interact with them, adding a more responsive feel to the interface.

ColorOS 17 Liquid Acrylic Design

Another major visual change teased for ColorOS 17 is the "Liquid Acrylic" design. The interface will reportedly feature more glass-like and translucent elements, combined with lighting effects.

The approach bears similarities to Apple's Liquid Glass design language, although Oppo appears to be adapting the visual treatment for its own interface.

ColorOS 17 is also expected to introduce a new navigation bar positioned at the top of app screens, providing a more consistent appearance across the user interface.

More ColorOS 17 Features Teased

Oppo will retain some features introduced with the previous ColorOS generation. Teasers show a Live Activity bar on the lock screen, allowing users to keep track of ongoing activities.

The notification system is also getting refreshed animations, particularly when users dismiss banner notifications. While the underlying design philosophy remains familiar, the new animations are expected to make interactions feel more polished.

ColorOS 17 Release and Compatible Phones

The Oppo Find X10, Find X10 Pro and Find X10 Pro Max are expected to be among the first smartphones to feature ColorOS 17. Oppo could officially unveil the Android 17-based software later this month.

Beyond Oppo's own interface changes, ColorOS 17 will also incorporate features introduced with Android 17. The stable rollout is expected to expand to additional Oppo, Realme, and OnePlus smartphones following the initial launch.
