OPPO F29 Series Launching in India on March 20 With Military-Grade Durability
OPPO will launch the F29 series, a Made-in-India smartphone lineup, on March 20, 2025. The devices have been tested for water and dust resistance and are designed to withstand tough environmental conditions.

Build and Durability
The F29 series has been tested under 14 military-grade durability standards (MIL-STD-810H-2022), which assess resistance to temperature extremes, humidity, shock, and vibration. The devices also carry IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, indicating different levels of water and dust protection:
- IP66: Protects against high-pressure water jets.
- IP68: Can be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
- IP69: Resistant to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, which could be useful in industrial environments.
The phones have also been tested for exposure to liquids like tea, coffee, juice, and detergent. Additionally, they include a feature that helps remove trapped water from the speakers after submersion.
Structural Reinforcement and Impact Protection
The F29 series includes a 360° Armour Body, which is designed to minimize damage from drops. The frame is made from aluminum alloy, and a Lens Protection Ring is included to prevent scratches on the camera. The design also features Sponge Bionic Cushioning, aimed at absorbing impact from accidental falls.
