Oppo F7 will go on its first flash sale today via Flipkart and 777 Oppo stores across India. The smartphone, however, will also be available in both offline and online stores starting from April 2. The F7 also has two special variants, but Oppo is yet to announce their availability. Oppo's latest offering is believed to take on the likes of Vivo V9, Moto X4, and Honor 8 Pro.
The Oppo F7 is priced at Rs. 21,990 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. As stated, the smartphone has special edition variants in Diamond Black and Solar Red that pack 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. These two variant come with the price tag of Rs. 26,990. The special edition variants will be available in only select Oppo stores, but their availability is not known yet.
There will be some attractive launch offers for Oppo F7 during the flash sale. ICICI Bank credit/debit card holders will 5 percent cashback on the purchase of the smartphone. Customers will also get an additional 120GB 4G data from Reliance Jio and up to Rs. 1,200 cashback in 12 months. Finally, the F7 buyers will be getting one-time free screen replacement within one year from Oppo's authorized service centers.
Oppo F7 specifications
The Oppo F7 ships with a 6.23-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with the aspect ratio of 19:9. Notably, it is one of the first smartphones in India to sport a display notch.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core 64-bit MediaTek Helio P60 processor paired with either 4GB or 6GB RAM depending on the variant. The 4GB variant has 64GB native storage, and the 6GB variant has 128GB native storage.
In terms of optics, the F7 flaunts a 25MP selfie camera that uses Sony's 576 sensor. The selfie camera has an aperture size of f/2.0 and it supports real-time HDR technology. At the rear, the smartphone is equipped with a 16MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture and AI scene recognition features. Notably, the flagship device from Oppo has Face Unlock feature.
Connectivity features onboard include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and GPS/ A-GPS. There are sensors like accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The smartphone also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The F7 is backed by 3,400mAh battery rated to deliver up to 33.5 hours of music playback. On the software front, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.0 on top.
Oppo F7 rivals
Given its price range, the Oppo F7 will be competing against the Moto X4, Honor 9 Pro and the newly launched Vivo V9. Interestingly, both Vivo V9 and Oppo F7 come with the iPhone X-like notch.
It remains to be seen how the smartphone does in terms of sale.
