OPPO Find N5 Teased as the World’s Slimmest Foldable Smartphone: Will Debut as OnePlus Open 2 in India
Oppo is set to introduce the Find N5 in China next month, as revealed by a company official on social media. The Chinese OEM is skipping the Oppo Find N4 moniker, so the Find N5 is anticipated to follow the Find N3, which launched in October 2023. This new model is teased as the "world's slimmest foldable" phone, possibly as thin as a pencil.
In a Weibo post, Oppo's Chief Product Officer Pete Lau (also known as Liu Zuohu) confirmed that the Oppo Find N5 will debut in China in February. The post included a teaser image highlighting the foldable's design. Lau stated it would be the "thinnest foldable phone" globally. The image suggests it might be thinner than a pencil, which measures between 7 to 8mm.

OPPO Find N5 Expected Features and Specifications
The Oppo Find N5 may feature a Hasselblad-supported triple rear camera setup with a periscope lens. It is expected to support satellite communication and be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. A large battery of approximately 6,000mAh with wireless charging capability is also anticipated.
The upcoming device might compete with other slim foldables like Honor Magic V3, which measures 9.2mm when folded and 4.4mm when unfolded. The predecessor, Oppo Find N3, has an 11.7mm profile. However, exact thickness details remain undisclosed for now.
The Oppo Find N5 reportedly boasts a "new industrial design" emphasizing durability and could come with an IPX8 splash resistance rating. This aligns with its focus on being both sleek and robust for users who value aesthetics and functionality.
OPPO Find N5 Launch Timeline
Recent developments align with earlier leaks suggesting a February launch date for the handset. Additionally, the OPPO Find N5 is expected to make its debut in India and globally the second half of 2025 as the OnePlus Open 2.
This announcement comes amid shifts in global market dynamics, such as Apple's iPhone losing market share due to limited presence in China. Meanwhile, other brands like Samsung are preparing for their own launches with leaked renders of upcoming models like the Galaxy S25 series.
