Oppo Neo 5 (2015) launched for Rs 9,990: Key specs and comparison
Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has launched the 2015 edition of its cost-effective smartphone the Neo 5 in the Indian market. Called the Neo 5 (2015), this phone has been priced for Rs 9,990, which puts it against the Lenovo A7000, Micromax Yu Yureka and Xiaomi RedMi Note 4G which are priced in the same segment. Oppo is now available in India via online and offine retail channels.

Let's take a look at what the Oppo Neo 5 (2015) offers in terms of specs and features for its price.

Designed to look premium, as per claims!
Oppo says that the phone flaunts an aesthetic mirror appearance and dual metal skeleton body, which make it look premium for its price. The company adds that It has used mirror cover front and back body. It also claims that the rear panel of the phone features a special lamination, and is made of a material that is used in the glass fiber. Due to the special material, the phone is protected against scratch and damages.
Can't display HD!
The OPPO Neo 5 has a 4.5-inch display with 480x854 pixels resolution and pixel density of 219PPI. The screen is protected with scratch-resistant Dragon trail glass. Lenovo A7000 on the hand features a 5.5-inch (1280 × 720 pixels) IPS display and Micromax Yu Yureka has 5.5 Inch HD IPS display. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Not that powerful!
The phone runs on a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM, which is nothing very attractive considering that many phones that are priced comparatively lower also come with similar chipset. In comparison, both the Lenovo A7000 and Micromax Yu Yureka boast octa-core power. The A7000 comes with a 1.5 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6752M processor with 16-core Mali-T760 GPU while the Yu Yureka is powered by a 1.5.GHz Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 chipset. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, on the other hand, runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) chipset cocked at 1.6GHz, with Adreno 305. All three smartphones in comparison have 2GB of RAM, which is double the RAM on Oppo Neo 5 (2015).
Photography lovers may go with better!
The OPPO Neo 5 sports an 8MP rear with SonyIMX179 Backside Illuminated (BSI) sensor, with a sensor size of 1/3.2 inches and a pixel size of 1.4µm, as well as a large F/2.2 large aperture, and 5P lens. Up front, there is 2MP sefie camera, with F 2.8 front aperture, golden shooting angle design, and unique Beautify function, Oppo says. The Redmi Note 4G in comparison adorns a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording and a 5MP front-facing camera. The Yu Yureka comes with a 13MP primary camera with LED flash, and a 5MP sefie camera, while the 8MP autofocus camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera.
Plenty of space to store!
The Oppo Neo 5 (2015) has 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB. In comparison, Lenovo A7000 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G also offer similar storage space,

Software delight!
OPPO Neo 5 runs on Color OS 2.0.1i based on Android 4.4 KitKat, which is dated now. However, Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4G also runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, though wrapped under MIUI v5. The A7000 offers the Android 5.0 Lollipop favor, and the Yu Yureka on the other hand boasts Cyanogen OS topped on Android.
Lacks 4G connectivity:
The oppo Neo 5 does not support 4G LTE connectivity while the other three smartphones come with 4G support.
Not so affordable:
If we compare the price of all the devices against their specs, the Oppo Neo N5 (2015) gets a tough competition from the Lenovo A7000 and Micromax Yu Yureka both of which cost less at Rs 8,999 each. The Redmi Note 4G on the other hand come for the same price of Rs 9,999.
