Oppo R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition announced: Specs, price, images and more
Oppo R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition are now official with several impressive features.
After a lot of confusion, Oppo R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition have been announced in China. These smartphones have narrow bezels and 90% screen-to-body ratio with what is called Super-V Display. While both the smartphones feature a glass back, the Dream Mirror Edition comes with a ceramic body, which makes it different.
Both the Oppo R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition have similar specifications expect for a few differences. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual camera setup at the rear, AI-powered selfie camera as seen on the Oppo F5 and VOOC flash charging touted to offer 2 hours of talk time in just 5 minutes of charging. Also, there is an iPhone X-like display notch housing the selfie camera.
The Oppo R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition will feature a 20MP selfie camera with AI smart beauty. This feature can scan 296 feature points of the subject's face, which is 16.5% more than the AI smart beauty feature seen earlier. These smartphones from Oppo will go on sale starting from April 1 in China and are available for pre-order from today.
Oppo R15 specifications
The Oppo R15 bestows a 6.28-inch FHD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. Under its hood, the smartphone makes use of an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 12nm processor paired with ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space, which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
Running Android 8.1 Oreo topped with ColorOS 5.0, the Oppo R15 features a dual-camera setup at its rear with a 16MP primary camera with Sony IMX519 sensor, LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, EIS and a 5MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The selfie camera is a 20MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture. The connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, hybrid dual SIM slot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and a 3450mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charging.
Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition specs
Talking about the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition, this one features a ceramic body as mentioned earlier. While most specifications are identical to those of the standard variant of the Oppo R15, it makes use of an octa-core 14nm Snapdragon 660 SoC teamed up with Adreno 512 GPU. While the front and rear cameras are identical, the difference is in the secondary sensor in the rear camera of the R15 DME. It is a 20MP sensor with a wider f/1.7 aperture. The other differences are the presence of Bluetooth 5 and a 3400mAh battery in the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition.
Price and availability
Oppo R15 comes in three color variants such as Snow White, Hot Red and Star Purple. It is priced at 2999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 30,800). On the other hand, the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition in Red is priced at 3299 Yuan (approx. Rs. 33,880) while the Ceramic Edition is priced at 3499 Yuan (approx. Rs. 35,935). As mentioned earlier, these smartphones will go on sale from April 1.
