Oppo Reno 12 Series Launch Date Set for May 23: Design, Triple-Camera Setup Confirmed

Oppo has officially confirmed the launch of the Reno 12 series in China. The smartphone maker recently took to Weibo to confirm the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro's official release date in the country.

To recall, the Oppo Reno 11 series was unveiled in China back in November 2023 and made its way to India in January. Oppo confirmed the Reno 12 series launch on its official Weibo handle.

Oppo Reno 12 Series Launch Date, Design

The Oppo Reno 12 series launch date in China is set for May 23 at 04:00 pm local time or 01:30 pm IST. The line-up will include the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro.

As of now, Oppo has kept specifications of the Reno 12 series under wrap. However, the official Weibo post reveals the design and camera layout of both the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro.

The Reno 12 is shown in a purple colorway, while the Oppo Reno 12 Pro opts for a silver shade. Both Reno 12 smartphones appear to have a glossy finish and a triple-camera setup on the top left corner. The Oppo Reno 12 and 12 Pro are expected to feature a main, ultrawide, and telephoto camera.

Oppo Reno 12, Reno 12 Pro Specifications (Expected)

The vanilla Reno 12 is expected to debut as the first smartphone with the recently announced MediaTek Dimensity 8250 SoC. On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is rumored to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 "Star Speed Edition" chipset.

Apart from the chips, the Oppo Reno 12 could sport a curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an FHD+ resolution, although the Reno 12 Pro is expected to bump it up to a 1.5K curved OLED screen.

The Oppo Reno 12 series is also tipped to pack a 5,000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. According to rumors, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro could feature a 50 MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 50 MP telephoto unit with 2x optical zoom.
