Oppo Reno 16 and 16 Pro Launched With 200MP Cameras, New Designs: Check Price, Specs, Features
Oppo has officially launched the Reno 16 Pro and Reno 16 in China during its May 2026 launch event. Alongside the new smartphones, the company also introduced the Oppo Pad 6 tablet.
The Reno 16 lineup focuses heavily on cameras, battery life, and premium-looking designs, while still sticking to the slim and lightweight Reno identity the series is known for.

Both phones come with triple rear cameras, 50-megapixel selfie shooters, AMOLED displays, and MediaTek Dimensity processors. The bigger talking point, though, is the battery setup. The Reno 16 Pro packs a massive 7,000mAh battery, while the standard Reno 16 gets a 6,700mAh unit.

Meanwhile, the Reno 16 Pro starts at CNY 4,499 (roughly Rs. 63,000) for the same 12GB + 256GB configuration. The most expensive Pro variant with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage costs CNY 5,299 (around Rs. 74,000).
The phones will go on sale in China starting May 29 through Oppo’s online store.
For colours, the Reno 16 comes in Galaxy Purple, Heartbeat, and Moonlight Is Dark shades. The Pro model gets Dream White, Heartbeat, and Moonlight Is Dark options.
Displays
Oppo has given the Reno 16 Pro a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits.
The regular Reno 16 gets a smaller 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED display.
Both displays support 1.07 billion colors, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
MediaTek Chips Power Both Phones
The Reno 16 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, while the Reno 16 uses the Dimensity 8550 Super processor.
Both models offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Oppo is also highlighting durability with an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance.
Cameras Remain A Big Focus
Camera hardware continues to be one of the Reno series’ biggest selling points.
Both phones feature a 200-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation, paired with a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera capable of 3.5x optical zoom.
On the front, there’s a 50-megapixel selfie camera for photos and video calls.
The phones also support video recording at up to 4K 60fps.
Bigger Batteries
Battery capacity has become one of the biggest smartphone trends this year, and Oppo is leaning into that hard.
The Reno 16 Pro packs a 7,000mAh battery, while the Reno 16 comes with a 6,700mAh unit. Both support 80W wired charging.
The Pro model additionally supports 50W wireless charging.
Despite the large batteries, the phones are still fairly slim. The Reno 16 Pro measures 7.86mm thick and weighs 208g, while the Reno 16 is slightly thicker at 8.36mm and weighs 191g.
