OPPO Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro Launch Date Revealed: Check Expected Specifications

OPPO has officially confirmed the launch of the Reno 16 series in China. The Reno 16 series will succeed the Reno 15 line-up, although OPPO is only expected to introduce two phones in the series next week, with more possibly following later.

OPPO Reno 16 Series Launch Date

The OPPO Reno 16 series launch date in China is set for May 25 at 06:00 pm local time or 03:30 pm IST. As of now, there is no word on the global launch of the OPPO Reno 16 series, although it could arrive this June or July. Additionally, the OPPO Pad 6, Pad 5 Air, and Enco Air 5s TWS earbuds will also be unveiled alongside the Reno 16 line-up.

The OPPO Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro are expected to feature MediaTek chipsets, large silicon carbon batteries with fast charging support, and a triple-camera setup.

OPPO Reno 16 Series Specifications: What to Expect

According to leaks, OPPO may adopt a dual-size display strategy for the Reno 16 series. The standard Reno 16 is tipped to feature a 6.32-inch 1.5K flat OLED display, while the Reno 16 Pro could arrive with a larger 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED LTPO panel offering adaptive refresh rate support for smoother visuals and better power efficiency.

The Reno 16 is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 chipset, whereas the Reno 16 Pro may feature the more powerful Dimensity 9500s processor aimed at flagship-level performance and gaming.

Battery capacity could become one of the biggest highlights of the series. Reports suggest the Reno 16 may pack a 6,700mAh battery, while the Reno 16 Pro could feature an even larger 7,000mAh unit. Both devices are expected to support 80W wired fast charging, while the Pro variant may additionally offer 50W wireless charging support.

For photography, the Reno 16 series is rumoured to feature a triple rear camera setup comprising a 200MP Samsung HP5 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. OPPO is also expected to continue focusing on AI-backed portrait photography and imaging enhancements.

Both smartphones are tipped to feature metal middle frames and multiple premium finishes. The Reno 16 could launch in Fairy Purple, Lucky Clover, Black Horse, and Heartbeat Star shades, while the Reno 16 Pro may arrive in Dream Blue, Black Horse, and Heartbeat Star options.

Additionally, OPPO is rumoured to introduce a new "OPPO Bubble" accessory featuring a smart electronic display with support for custom wallpapers and remote photography controls.
