Pay attention; a Razer smartphone specially meant for gamers is coming soon
The smartphone is likely to carry a huge battery for supporting long gaming sessions.
Razer, the leading company for gaming hardware, software, and systems, is now working on a mobile gaming device. In an interaction with CNBC, Min-Liang Tan, the CEO of the company has confirmed that Razer is indeed planning to enter the mobile gaming market.
According to the CEO, the upcoming mobile device will mainly focus on gaming as well as on entertainment. He further revealed the smartphone will be officially released by the end of this year. Unfortunately, he refused to shed light on the phone's specifications and features. Well, one thing for sure, the smartphone is likely to carry a huge battery for supporting long gaming sessions.
Quite interestingly, Razer has been speculated to be working on mobile gaming device since last year. Back in January 2017, the company had acquired Nextbit, which is mainly known for its cloud storage based Robin smartphone.
Naturally, the rumor mill began suggesting Razer will launch a gaming smartphone soon. However, the rumors turned out to be false as even after the acquisition Nextbit went on to work as an independent company.
Again in July, a report had claimed Razer is working on a smartphone designed for gaming. The report had also stated that the company was raising funds for the smartphone.
It should be kept in mind that Razer's CEO didn't mention the word "smartphone" to describe its upcoming gaming smartphone. So it could also be a tablet. Notably, Razer had earlier launched the Razer Edge tablet for gamers.
Be it a smartphone or a tablet, we are pretty excited for the upcoming device from Razer.
