Pixel Fold Leaks Continue to Swirl as Blurry Photos Surface Online

Google's smartphones are prone to a deluge of leaks before their official announcements happen. The Pixel Fold is the latest victim of this trope, as a Redditor managed to snap some pics of the upcoming foldable on a New York City Subway. These photos are blurry, but at least one of them gives us the best look at what Google is cooking for its first foldable device.

Google's Pixel Fold Spotted in a Subway

A Redditor spotted Google's upcoming foldable phone in a New York City Subway and took four photos of it. He went on to say that the phone's "outside" bezels are extremely thin. This leads us to believe that the Pixel Fold's cover display will have very thin bezels, which will allow for more screen real estate.

The phone's color is said to be a dark color, such as dark blue or black.

The phone could be any other foldable device with a similar design to the one seen in the spy shots, but the Redditor claims to have seen a camera bar on the back of the device, which is one of the unique design features of Pixel series devices such as the Pixel 6 and 7 lineup.

When Will Pixel Fold Launch?

A mysterious Google "Phone" was discovered in an FCC filing a few days ago, and we speculated that it could be the Pixel 7a or the Pixel Fold. If the spy shots are of a Pixel Fold, the device could be well beyond the development stage and even in testing, as evidenced by the photos.

The upcoming Google IO event on May 10th may be the best venue for the software behemoth to unveil its first foldable device. The IO event typically showcases the company's new hardware, and with the Pixel 7a expected to break cover and more information on the Pixel tablet's arrival, there's no harm in the Pixel Fold tagging along.
