Poco F6 5G will be India’s First Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Smartphone: Launch Date, Expected Price and Specs

The Poco F6 5G is set to become India's first smartphone to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The Chinese smartphone brand recently teased the launch of the phone in the country.

In a recent post, the brand confirmed that the Poco F6 5G will be the first smartphone in India to incorporate the flagship Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, which is uses the 4nm manufacturing process and has the Cortex-X4, which is seen on the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Poco F6 Launch in India

The Poco F6 5G launch date in India is set for May 23 at 04:30 pm IST. The company is also hosting a global launch event in Dubai simultaneously. However, the brand is set to release both the Poco F6 5G and Poco F6 Pro 5G globally.

However, only the vanilla model is coming to India. Judging by its design and chipset, the Poco F6 5G is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 3, which made its debut in China last month.

We believe that the Poco F6 5G price in India could fall anywhere between Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000. To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 3 price in China starts from CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs 23,100). Following its launch in India, the Poco F6 5G will be available for purchase through Flipkart.

Poco F6 5G Specifications (Expected)

Apart from the chip, the Poco F6 5G will come with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The handset is expected to sport a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 2,400 nits as well as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. The screen will feature a 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate.

For optics, Poco's latest mid-range smartphone is expected to feature a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with an f/1.59 aperture and OIS. The main camera is paired with an 8 MP Sony IMX355 ultrawide lens. Up front, the Poco F6 5G will opts for a 20 MP selfie camera.

It will pack a 5,000 mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging support. The Poco F6 5G will get stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, an under-display fingerprint reader, and a 4800mm2 cooling system. Stay tuned to Gizbot for more information about the Poco F6 5G.
