Poco M6 Pro Specs, Features, Design Renders And Other Camera Hardware Revealed: Is It A Rebranded Redmi 12 5G?

The Poco M6 Pro is expected to launch this week. The midrange Android smartphone has started appearing online in leaks, and even official posters from the brand.

Right after Xiaomi launched the Redmi 12 5G and Redmi 12 4G, and announced the Redmi 11 5G, Poco revealed the first look of the Poco M6 Pro. Let's take a look at all the available details of the Poco M6 Pro, which could be a rebranded but capable midrange Xiaomi Redmi smartphone with 5G connectivity enabled.

Poco M6 Pro Leaked Renders, Official Posters And Specifications

Poco has started teasing the Poco M6 Pro. In fact, the brand has even released an official poster of the smartphone, which not only reveals the backside of the M6 Pro but also confirms its official India launch date.

As evident from the official poster, the Poco M6 Pro is a 5G-enabled Android smartphone. Incidentally, this is not the first 5G Android smartphone under the Poco M series. That honor goes to the Poco M3 Pro 5G, which resembles the Redmi Note 10 5G.

Similarly, the Poco M6 Pro appears to be a rebranded version of the Redmi 12 5G, which Xiaomi launched this week. Additionally, leaked renders indicate the Poco smartphone will feature a decorative panel around the cameras on its back. This is, perhaps the biggest differentiator between the Poco M6 Pro and the Redmi 12 5G, except, of course, the Poco and Redmi branding.

The Redmi 12 5G is powered by a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. Hence, it would be safe to assume the Poco M6 Pro too will have the same chipset, presumably paired with 4GB or 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The Poco M6 Pro should feature a 6.8-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. There should be a 5000mAh battery inside the smartphone with support for 18W wired fast charging via a USB-C port.

The Poco smartphone should run Android 13 with a custom layer of MIUI 14 and the Poco launcher. A 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster too should be featured on the device.

Poco M6 Pro Launch, Price, And Availability In India

Poco has confirmed that it will launch the Poco M6 Pro in India this week. The launch event for the upcoming Poco smartphone has been scheduled to take place on August 5, 2023, which falls on this Saturday.

An official microsite for the Poco M6 Pro has already gone live on Flipkart, which simply means the smartphone will be available exclusively on the e-Commerce platform.

Coming to the price of the Poco M6 Pro, the Redmi 12 5G starts at around ₹11,000 for the base 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage model. The Poco M6 Pro's predecessors, the Poco M4 and M5 launched at around ₹13,000. Hence, Poco could price the Poco M6 Pro below the ₹15,000 mark. Although Poco has revealed just one color, the brand should offer at least two additional color options for the Poco M6 Pro.
