Poco M8 5G India Launch Set for January 8, Flipkart Sale Confirmed; Poco M8 Pro Specs Tipped
Poco is lining up its first smartphone launch of the year in India, and this time it’s the Poco M8 5G. The company has officially confirmed that the new M-series phone will go official next week, giving us an early look at the design and a few key details ahead of the launch.

Here’s a clean rundown of what Poco has shared so far, along with what’s being tipped behind the scenes.
Poco M8 5G India Launch Details
The Poco M8 5G will launch in India on January 8 at 12 PM IST. The phone will be sold online via Flipkart, where Poco has already put up a teaser microsite.
Slim Design With A Dual-Tone Finish
One of the first things Poco is highlighting is the phone’s build. The M8 5G is confirmed to be 7.35mm thick and weighs around 178 grams, which is fairly slim for a 5G phone with a large battery.
Visually, the phone gets a dual-tone rear panel with a mix of matte texture and vegan leather. The camera module sits in the center and uses a squircle shape, housing two sensors along with an LED flash.
50MP Camera Confirmed
Poco has confirmed that the M8 5G will feature a 50-megapixel AI camera system. The brand hasn’t revealed details about the secondary camera yet.
Expected Specs Based On Leaks
Leaks suggest that the Poco M8 5G could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 5G. If that’s accurate, the phone may come with a 6.77-inch AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3200 nits peak brightness, along with Gorilla Glass protection.
Under the hood, it’s expected to run on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The battery could be a 5,520mAh unit with 45W fast charging support and 18W reverse charging.
Pricing Still Under Wraps
Poco hasn’t shared pricing details yet. For reference, the Redmi Note 15 5G is priced around Rs. 30,000 in global markets, while the Poco M7 5G launched in India at Rs. 9,999 earlier this year.
Poco M8 Pro Details
Alongside the regular M8, POCO is also expected to bring a more premium M8 Pro to India. Leaks suggest the POCO M8 Pro could be the most powerful M-series phone yet, with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, a large 6.83-inch quad-curved AMOLED display, and a massive 6,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging.
