Poco X5 GT Clears Certification in India; May Launch Soon

Poco recently launched the Poco X5 Pro smartphone in India, with the non-Pro X5 reportedly launching next month. Now, a third Poco device in the X series, dubbed the Poco X5 GT, has appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, suggesting that it could launch soon.

The Poco X5 GT, with model number 23049PCD8I, has been spotted on BIS. While the image does not reveal anything else, it does confirm that the device will be released in the Indian market soon.

Poco X5 GT Looks to Be a Rebrand of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo
The Poco X5 and the Poco X5 Pro are reportedly rebranded versions of the Redmi Note 12 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G Speed Edition, respectively. Following suit, Xiaomiui claims that the Poco X5 GT will be a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo.
It isn't the first time Poco is said to be rebranding a Redmi phone. Earlier reports have alleged that Poco rebranded Redmi phones for its devices. In fact, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo is an upcoming device exclusively for the Chinese market. Reports claim that the Poco X5 GT will feature the same specification as the Redmi Note 12 Turbo.
Poco X5 GT Alleged Specifications
While there have been no leaks regarding the specifications of the Poco X5 GT, as rumors suggest, we could take a look at the Redmi Note 12 Turbo's leaked specification to know what we can expect from the Poco X5 GT.
The Redmi Note 12 Turbo is tipped to sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to feature a boxy design with rounded corners to fit in with the rest of the Note 12 lineup. It will be the first smartphone using TSMC's 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 processor and will support up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The device is also said to be powered by a 5,500mAh battery that supports 67W charging. The phone is expected to boot Android 13 with MIUI 14 on top.
As for the cameras, it will pack a triple-rear camera system which includes a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The cameras are said to be a replica of the optics found in the Redmi Note 12 Pro. There is no information available about the front-facing camera.
There is no information as yet as to when either the Redmi Note 12 Turbo or the Poco X5 GT will launch.
