Pova 8 Pro 5G Launch Imminent After Google Play Console Listing Emerges: What to Expect

The Pova 8 Pro 5G has taken another step towards launch, with the handset now appearing on the Google Play Console database. The listing is notable because it confirms the phone's marketing name, shows the front design, and points to a performance-focused configuration led by a MediaTek 5G chipset and 12GB RAM.

The device is listed with the model number TECNO-LK7, the same identifier previously seen on TUV and FCC certification platforms. Multiple certification appearances usually indicate that a smartphone is progressing through pre-launch approvals, although Tecno has not yet announced an official launch date or market availability for the Pova 8 Pro 5G.

Pova 8 Pro 5G Launch Imminent: What to Expect

Pova 8 Pro 5G Specifications Spotted

The Google Play Console entry lists a MediaTek MT6878 chipset. Its CPU setup includes four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0GHz. The graphics unit is listed as the Mali-G615 GPU, clocked at 1047MHz. Based on this configuration, the chipset appears to be the MediaTek Dimensity 7300.

That would place the Pova 8 Pro 5G closer to the upper mid-range segment than a typical budget Pova model. The Dimensity 7300 is designed for 5G phones that need stronger gaming, multitasking and camera processing capabilities without moving into flagship pricing. The listing, however, does not mention the commercial chipset name directly.

The phone is also shown with 12GB of RAM, which should help position it as a performance-oriented model. The software field points to Android 16 through SDK version 36. If accurate at launch, this would make the device one of Tecno's more future-facing releases in terms of out-of-the-box software.

Display and Design Details Revealed

The Google Play Console render shows a flat front panel with slim bezels, rounded corners and a centred hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. The right side appears to house the volume keys and power button. The power button has an orange accent, a design touch used on recent Pova-series phones.

The listing mentions a display resolution of 1208 x 2644 pixels and a screen density of 520 DPI. It does not reveal the screen size, panel type or refresh rate, although this will likely be a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate.

Previous certification details have pointed to a 6,340mAh rated battery. This could be marketed as a 6,500mAh typical battery, depending on Tecno's final product communication. FCC documents have also indicated support for 5G, NFC, Bluetooth and dual-band Wi-Fi, giving the phone a reasonably complete connectivity package.

How it may differ from the Pova 8 5G

The Pova line has generally focused on large batteries and gaming-friendly features. The Pova 8 5G launched in India with an 8,000mAh battery and a 144Hz display, making endurance one of its main selling points. The Pro model, based on current listings, appears to be taking a different route.

Instead of simply chasing the largest battery figure, the Pova 8 Pro 5G seems aimed at users who want stronger processing hardware coupled with a more vibrant display. This could make it more relevant for gaming, app switching and long-term everyday performance, provided Tecno pairs the hardware with effective cooling and software optimisation.
