QiKu F4 with 5 inch HD display, Fingerprint Sensor launched to take on Xiaomi Redmi 3
QiKu, a company formed by the collaboration between Coolpad and Qihoo360 has launched a new budget smartphone dubbed the QiKu F4 at an event in China. In an attempt to build a 'Hype', the upstart Chinese smartphone brand had teased the launch of this new smartphone a few days back on Chinese social media platforms.
Qiku F4 Specifications
By the looks of it, the QiKu F4 appears to be the Coolpad Note 3 with slightly modified internals. The budget QiKu F4 with a metal frame to the side, sports a 5 inch HD (1280x720p) display upfront and is powered by a 64 bit enabled octa-core Mediatek 6753 SoC with cores clocked at 1.3GHz each. This is coupled with a Mali T720 GPU. Apart from that the QiKu F4 features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
There is also an enhanced variant of the smartphone which comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of memory. Apart from that QiKu is offering the users a room for memory expansion upto 128GB via MicroSD card slot.
Rear Camera equipped with PDAF sensor
In terms of cameras, both the variants of the QiKu F4 sports a 13MP rear and a 5MP front facing camera. Both the cameras come with a f/2.0 aperture and the rear camera specifically is equipped with a Phase Detection Autofocus Sensor (PDAF). The rear camera is further encircled by silvers rings thereby giving the rear of the device an appealing look. There's also a Fingerprint Sensor which sits just below the rear camera module - a placement that is reminiscent of the Coolpad Note 3.
Qihoo 360 OS on top
To power the QiKu F4, is a 2500mAH Li-Ion battery which can presumably last it through a day of moderate usage. As expected the QiKu F4 runs on a baked version of Android Lollipop 5.1 with Qihoo 360 OS on top. The budget device has support for 4G LTE networks and comes in a variety of colours including White, Black, Pink, Gold and Blue colours.
Price & Availability
The dual SIM smartphone (Hybrid SIM Slot) is priced at 599 Yuan (Rs 6,000 approx.) and 799 Yuan (Rs 8,000 approx.) for the 2GB RAM/16GB and 3GB RAM/32GB storage variants respectively. The first flash sale is scheduled to take place in China on March 25 with registrations beginning later today. QiKu however, hasn't announced their plans to roll out the device internationally, especially in India.
