Qualcomm Announces Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Mobile Platform for India; Xiaomi To be the first to adopt

Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Mobile Platform at its Snapdragon for India in Delhi, India, aiming to make 5G more accessible. This platform exemplifies Qualcomm's dedication to advancing human progress by facilitating the global shift from 4G to 5G, benefiting both communities and industries.

The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 includes enhanced features such as robust CPU performance for seamless multitasking, dual-band navIC for improved position accuracy, and AI-enhanced audio and entertainment experiences.

"The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Mobile Platform is a significant leap forward in making 5G technology more accessible, so more people can navigate the world at 5G speeds," said Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. "Thanks to cutting-edge engineering, we balanced affordability with strong performance and all-day battery life as well as widespread access to 5G for more enhanced mobile experiences."

This new platform aims to bring Gigabit 5G connectivity to over 600 million Indian smartphone users, offering peak download speeds of up to 1 Gbps. This speed is seven times faster than what LTE platforms in the same price range typically offer. At the heart of the new processor are Kryo cores clocking in at up to 2 GHz, and using 4 nm processing. It also features on-device display support of 90Hz.

Xiaomi will be among the first companies to adopt this new platform with the first device expected before the end of the year.
