Qualcomm Might Unveil Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 & 7+ Gen 3 on March 18th
Qualcomm is set to host an event on March 18 where it will launch its newest Snapdragon chipsets. The event was announced on Weibo (via GizmoChina). The company is expected to unveil the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chips. These are built on the same foundations as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, introduced in October 2023.
While Qualcomm hasn't specified which chipsets will be announced, reports suggest the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 are the likely candidates. With AI at the forefront, these chipsets could redefine smartphone performance and capabilities.

Inside the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and 7+ Gen 3
Rumors surrounding the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset suggest a notable CPU configuration. This is expected to include a single Cortex-X4 core running at 3.01GHz, accompanied by four Cortex-A720 cores operating at 2.61GHz, and three Cortex-A520 cores with a clock speed of 1.84GHz. Additionally, the chipset is likely to incorporate an Adreno 735 GPU, offering significant improvements in overall performance. Identified by the model code SM8635, this chip is manufactured by TSMC and is built on a 4nm process.
On the other side, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC might offer one Cortex-X4 core at 2.9GHz, four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6GHz, and three Cortex-A520 cores at 1.9GHz. This would be paired with an Adreno 732 GPU. Like its sibling, it builds on the architecture of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Which Devices Will Feature the New Chipsets?
The Realme GT Neo 6 series is rumored to be among the first smartphones to feature the new Qualcomm processors. The standard model might come with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, while the Realme GT Neo 6 SE could sport the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip. Other devices like the iQOO Neo 9, OnePlus Ace 3V, and Vivo Pad 3 are also expected to run on these powerful processors.
