Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC Announced with Enhanced AI Graphics: Check Key Features And Specifications
Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a new addition to its mid-range 7 series Mobile Platform. This chip succeeds the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 from 2024. It retains a similar architecture of 1+3+4, featuring Kryo CPUs. These include a single ARM Cortex-A720 prime core at 2.8 GHz, three A720 performance cores up to 2.4 GHz, and four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores reaching up to 1.84 GHz.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 promises significant improvements in various areas compared to its predecessor. The CPU performance is enhanced by nearly 27%, while AI capabilities see a boost of about 65%. This allows for better on-device experiences with support for AI assistants and large language models (LLMs). Additionally, it introduces Stable Diffusion image generation within the series.

Enhanced Graphics and Gaming Features
The new Adreno GPU offers a substantial upgrade, delivering graphics rendering that is approximately 30% faster than the previous generation. Qualcomm's Snapdragon Elite Gaming features are designed to ensure smooth gameplay experiences consistently. These enhancements make the platform suitable for gaming enthusiasts seeking improved visual performance.
Photography and videography capabilities have also been upgraded in this release. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 includes a 12-bit Triple ISP supporting up to a remarkable 200MP photo capture. Real-time 4K60 Video Super Resolution ensures clear footage even when zoomed in. For the first time in this series, AI-powered autofocus, auto white balance, and auto exposure are available, enhancing photo and video quality with vibrant colours and quick focus.
Connectivity and Audio Improvements
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 introduces Qualcomm Expanded Personal Area Network (XPAN) technology for seamless coverage across entire buildings. This feature ensures connectivity from devices to earbuds even when away from the phone or on different floors. Additionally, Snapdragon Sound supports lossless music streaming, complemented by Qualcomm Aqstic Hi-Fi DAC for distortion-free mobile sound.
Connectivity options have been expanded with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 support. The built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF System offers sub-6 GHz download speeds up to an impressive 4.2 Gbps. These advancements provide users with faster internet speeds and more reliable connections.
