Report: Snapdragon Tops India’s Premium Chipset Market Ahead of Festive Season

Report: Snapdragon Tops India’s Premium Chipset Market

Snapdragon’s Hold on the Premium Segment

CMR’s July 2025 smartphone shipment tracker shows that Snapdragon-powered phones continue to dominate the premium tier. That leadership matters because this is where users demand more—better gaming performance, stronger AI integration, and longer-lasting power. With 40% share, Snapdragon is well ahead of its rivals in this slice of the market.

A Festive Push With 'Snapdragon Hai na’

Qualcomm is linking this milestone with a new nationwide campaign called “Snapdragon Hai na”. The idea behind it is simple: when buyers feel overwhelmed by choices, Snapdragon acts as the deciding factor. The company says its chips assure blazing-fast performance, reliable gaming, pro-grade photography, and AI smarts that keep up with changing needs .

The campaign itself isn’t confined to just one medium. It spans TV, print, OTT platforms, YouTube takeovers, digital channels, and influencer tie-ups. With the festive season being the biggest upgrade cycle in India, Qualcomm is betting that visibility across every screen will matter.

What Buyers Want From Their Next Phone

According to CMR, nearly nine out of ten Indian consumers looking to upgrade say performance is their top priority. Around 85% also highlight gaming as an important factor, while 45% mention preparing for generative AI features. Those numbers explain why Qualcomm is leaning heavily on both performance and AI in its messaging .

The Bigger Picture

Snapdragon’s position at the top of India’s premium smartphone chipset market comes at a key moment. With multiple flagship launches lined up for the festive quarter, chipset choice could play an outsized role in swaying buyers. For Qualcomm, this isn’t just about leading in shipments—it’s about cementing Snapdragon as the default name consumers associate with high-performance phones.
