Realme 12 Pro Plus Transparent Edition Officially Teased by Company Executive

The Realme 12 Pro Series recently went on sale in India, recording the fastest number of sales. Realme claimed that the series was the "No.1 online sales performer of the first sale of 2024."

While the line-up does include the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+, the latter is the one capturing most of the headlines. Now, the brand is plotting the launch of a new version of the Realme 12 Pro Plus.

Realme 12 Pro Plus Transparent Edition

In a recent post, Francis Wang, CEO of Realme Europe, shared a teaser of the Realme 12 Pro Plus with a transparent back panel. While the post on X (formerly Twitter) doesn't mention the name of the handset, the design appears to be that of the Realme 12 Pro Plus.

Wang also doesn't confirm which market this transparent version of the Realme 12 Pro Plus will be unveiled in. However, he has asked fans of the brand to suggest where to launch the smartphone. But given the recent news, we could see a new transparent variant of the Realme 12 Pro Plus being unveiled in limited quantities.

To recall, the Realme 12 Pro Plus was unveiled in Submarine Blue, Navigator Beige, and Explorer Red color options. It is worth noting that the Realme GT 5 Pro also features a rear camera layout with the addition of a periscope lens.

Realme 12 Pro Plus Pricing

The Realme 12 Pro Plus price in India starts from Rs 29,999 for the base 8GB/128GB variant. Moreover, the Realme 12 Pro Plus is also offered in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB configurations that cost Rs 31,999 and Rs 33,999, respectively. Indians can purchase the Realme 12 Pro+ through Flipkart, realme.com, and partner retail channels.

Realme 12 Pro Plus Specifications

The Realme 12 Pro Plus 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Realme 12 Pro+ runs Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14.

Realme promises two Android OS updates and three years of regular security updates with the Realme 12 Pro Plus. The Realme 12 Pro Plus also packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. It also packs dual-stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

The handset also sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Curved Pro-XDR OLED display with a peak brightness of 950 nits. The panel also boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,160Hz PWM dimming. For optics, the phone features a triple-rear camera setup on the back with a 50 MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS at the helm.

The main camera is paired with an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 64 MP OV64B periscope lens with 6x optical zoom. The periscope lens also features Prism Tilt Super OIS and 6x lossless zoom.
