Realme 12 Pro Series Launch Date in India Confirmed: Design, Camera System Officially Teased

Realme has officially announced a release date for its upcoming 'Number' series smartphones in India. The company has been teasing the camera system of its upcoming Realme 12 Pro+ for some time now.

However, no official launch date was provided, until now. The Realme 12 series will likely include the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro Plus. The two devices will compete against Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro 5G.

Realme 12 Pro Series Launch Date in India

The Realme 12 Pro series launch in India is expected to take place on January 29, at 12 noon (IST). The company recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to tease the official Realme 12 Pro series launch date in India.

Realme has also set up a microsite for the upcoming 12 series with brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan holding up the Rolex Edition of the Realme 12 Pro Plus. The microsite reveals various aspects of the new camera system on the Realme 12 Pro series, with an emphasis on portrait photography.

The official website confirms that the Realme 12 Pro Plus Rolex Edition will be coming to India. The page also reveals the handset's leather back panel and a curved AMOLED display. It also teases Realme's transition from the 200 MP camera sensor to a periscope lens with 120x digital zoom.

Realme 12 Pro Plus Specifications (Expected)

The Realme 12 Pro+ is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, the same chip used on the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. The phone is also touted to run on Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0 on top. Moreover, it will pack a 5,000 mAh battery.

The leak also reveals that the phone will sport a 6.7-inch FHD+ Curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For optics, the Realme 12 Pro Plus is expected to feature a triple-camera setup on the back that includes a 50 MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 64 MP OV64B periscope-telephoto camera.
