Realme 16 Pro Series Software Update Policy Upgraded: Now to Get 4 OS and 6 Security Patches

Realme has announced an upgraded software support policy for the 16 Pro series. Both the 16 Pro and the 16 Pro+ in the lineup were launched earlier this January in India with three years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches.

Now, the brand has confirmed that the handsets will receive four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The updated software commitment will be enabled through an upcoming OTA rollout, ensuring all eligible Realme 16 Pro Series users seamlessly receive the extended support.

Realme 16 Pro Series India Price and Specifications

The Realme 16 Pro Series ships with Android 16-based Realme UI 7. With the updated software policy, the phones are now confirmed to receive Android updates up to Android 20. Moreover, under the hood, the Realme 16 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max, while the 16 Pro+ runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform.

Both models feature AMOLED displays with a 144Hz refresh rate, but the Realme 16 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED panel, while the 16 Pro+ has a slightly larger 6.8-inch curved AMOLED screen. Both phones also pack a 7,000mAh battery and support 80W fast charging.

For imaging, the 16 Pro has a 200MP Samsung HP5 main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, while the 16 Pro+ gets a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, alongside the 200MP OIS main camera and 8MP ultra-wide lens. As for pricing, the Realme 16 Pro starts at ₹31,999 in India, while the Realme 16 Pro+ has a starting price of ₹41,999.
