Realme 5 New Update Brings Systemwide Dark Mode, Along With October 2019 Security Patch

Realme 5 is going to receive a new update, along with October 2019 security patch. Dubbed RMX1911EX_11_A.18 version number, the new firmware is a host of several amazing features. The most noticeable feature the update brings along is the "System-wide Dark Mode".

The system-wide dark mode feature is already available on devices such as the Realme 1, U1, 5 Pro, X, XT, and the Realme 3 Pro. With the new firmware improves the brightness of the primary rear camera. You can optimize low light scene shooting for rear portrait mode. The noise issue can also be fixed with both front and rear cameras. The update lets a low light scene highly optimal for rear portrait mode.

The new update comes with some bug fixes. It can now tackle the battery issue. Furthermore, the update allows users to capture videos using the Realme 5's 8MP ultrawide angle lens. Lastly, the OS enables users to expand the notification bar with a swipe down gesture, located on the home screen.

To recall, Realme 5 was launched with a 6.5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3+. The device ships with Android 9 Pie based on ColorOS 6.0 UI. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, coupled with Adreno 610 GPU, 3GB/4GB RAM, and 32GB/64/128GB ROM options.

In terms of optics, the smartphone bears a quad rear camera setup comprising a 12MP, 8MP, 2MP, and a 2MP lens. At the front, it sports a single 13MP selfie shooter. It comes with a USB Type-C connectivity port. It is equipped with a beefy 5,000 mAh battery. The handset is available in Crystal Blue, Crystal Purple colors. And, its price in India starts from Rs. 9,107 for the base variant of 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM.
