Realme Collaborates with Ricoh to Enhance Photography on the Flagship Realme GT 8 Pro

Realme has teamed up with Ricoh to integrate traditional camera features into mobile photography. This collaboration aims to develop imaging systems for Realme phones, offering customisation that mimics the Rich GR camera experience. The first product from this partnership will be launched with the Realme GT 8 Pro later this month.

Realme's Strategic Partnership

Realme describes its collaboration with Ricoh as a significant step in imaging partnerships within the industry. The new technology is set to debut on October 14, introducing advancements in optical capabilities, colour algorithms, imaging tones, and a custom user interface design. Over the past four years, both companies have worked together to create the upcoming Realme-Ricoh imaging solution.

The Realme GT 8 Pro will feature film-like aesthetics and five classic image tones. This innovation is expected to enhance street photography experiences for users. The handset is anticipated to be officially released later this month.

Kazunobu Saiki, General Manager of Camera Business Division at Ricoh Imaging Company, stated, "Through this collaboration, we hope that even those who don't usually use dedicated cameras would experience snapshot photography with the GT 8 Pro."

Expanding Partnerships in Mobile Imaging

Realme's move aligns it with other China-based original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) collaborating with camera companies. Xiaomi has partnered with Leica Camera AG for mobile imaging experiences. Vivo collaborates with Zeiss for its high-end models' camera systems.

Oppo works alongside Swedish camera manufacturer Hasselblad to co-engineer mobile imaging systems. Meanwhile, OnePlus is developing its proprietary camera engine, set to debut with the upcoming OnePlus 15.

Realme aims to provide tools for authentic image capture and personal expression by merging conventional camera experiences with mobile photography through this partnership.
