Realme ColorOS 17 Update Timeline: Check List of Eligible Devices and Key Features

Realme has shared the ColorOS 17 rollout schedule for its phones, and the first update arrives on October 29. This is also the update where Realme UI bows out. Realme India had already confirmed that its future phones will launch with ColorOS 17 instead of Realme UI, and that eligible existing phones will get ColorOS 17 as part of their promised software support.

The plan covers close to 50 Realme, Narzo and Note models, starting with the GT 8 Pro and running into early 2027. If you use a Realme phone, here's where your device sits in the queue and what you get once the update lands.

Why Your Realme Phone Is Switching to ColorOS

For most users, the move won't feel jarring. Realme UI already shares much of its design, features and system apps with ColorOS, and Realme's early phones actually ran ColorOS before Realme UI arrived in 2020. So think of this as Realme going back to its roots, with one software team now serving OPPO, OnePlus and Realme phones.

What Changes on Your Realme Phone With ColorOS 17

• Fluid Design: Interface elements now stretch, squash and spring back as you touch them, giving the UI a more responsive feel.
• Floating navigation bar: The regular navigation bar makes way for a see-through, capsule-shaped bar inside system apps such as Phone, Notes and Recorder.
• Frosted glass look: Expect a translucent, blurred-glass style across the interface, along with a new Lockscreen Island feature.
• Performance upgrades: OPPO says ColorOS 17 keeps more apps alive in the background, opens apps faster and more reliably, and puts less load on the CPU and GPU while rendering effects.
• AI tools: ColorOS 17 brings an expanded set of AI features, though some features shown at the China launch are limited to that market, so the India build may not have everything.

If your phone is in the October batch, the update should show up in the software update section of Settings within the next few weeks. Those on older Note and 4G Lite models will have to wait until early 2027.
