Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro Tipped to Launch Together in October with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2

Realme could be changing up its flagship phone strategy. According to a leak shared by Digital Chat Station, both the Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro are expected to launch together in October.

That’s a shift from last year, when the GT 7 Pro launched in November, but the regular GT 7 didn’t arrive until May 2025.

Both phones may run on Qualcomm’s next flagship chip

This year, Realme seems to be leveling the playing field. Digital Chat Station reports that both the GT 8 and GT 8 Pro could use the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850). That’s Qualcomm’s upcoming top-tier processor, which is expected to bring solid improvements in performance and efficiency.

If both phones end up using the same chip, it could mean Realme is trying to close the performance gap between its Pro and non-Pro models.

What we know about the GT 8 Pro so far

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the base model, but the leak does share a few specifics about the GT 8 Pro. It might come with a flat 6.85-inch 2K OLED screen, most likely from Samsung, and could include an AR anti-glare coating, similar to the one on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Battery life also looks promising. The GT 8 Pro could include a 7,000mAh+ battery, packed into a body with a metal middle frame. It may support 100W fast charging, which should keep things moving even with that large of a battery.

A 200MP periscope camera could be on board

One of the most eye-catching details in the leak is the mention of a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, which could be Samsung’s HP9 sensor.

No word yet on other specs, and the standard GT 8 hasn’t been detailed either. But if Realme is planning an October launch, we’ll probably see more details pop up in the next few weeks.
