Realme GT 8 Pro Swappable Camera Module Confirmed: Here's Everything We Know So Far
Realme recently confirmed the launch of their first flagship smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip last week. While the company has been gradually teasing details about the Realme GT 8 Pro, the most recent teaser gives us a glimpse into the phone's most unique feature yet.
Earlier this month, speculation around the GT 8 Pro hinted at a bold new design direction. A leak had suggested that Realme might adopt a round camera module, following in the footsteps of several rivals. However, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station later shared images showcasing a slightly different approach.

Realme GT 8 Pro Swapable Camera Module
Now, Realme has put all rumors to rest by officially confirming that the GT 8 Pro will debut with a swappable camera deco system-a first of its kind on a mainstream flagship. According to Realme's teaser, the GT 8 Pro will feature a detachable camera housing that users can swap out or rearrange to suit their preferences.
In its preview video, the company showcased three options: a classic circular design, a square layout, and a futuristic "robot-inspired" irregular module. This hands-on customization adds a refreshing personal touch to smartphone design, moving away from the monotonous circular and rectangular cut-outs that dominate today's market.
Beyond aesthetics, Realme is packing serious hardware into its next-gen flagship. The GT 8 Pro will sport a 200MP periscope telephoto lens dubbed the "Ultra Eye," though details about the remaining sensors are yet to be disclosed.
Realme GT 8 Pro Specifications
On the front, the phone is expected to house a 2K 144Hz AMOLED display co-developed with BOE, using Q10+ materials for enhanced brightness and eye protection. The panel is capable of hitting a staggering 4,000 nits of peak brightness, putting it among the brightest displays ever seen on a smartphone.
Performance is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with Realme's dedicated R1 display chip, creating a dual-chip configuration aimed at boosting gaming and visual performance.
Powering it all is a massive 7,000mAh+ battery with support for 120W fast wired charging, ensuring all-day endurance with ultra-fast top-ups. Additional highlights include stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor for haptics, and advanced 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition for security.
Realme has confirmed that the GT 8 Pro will launch in October in China. The company also confirmed that the Realme GT 8 Pro will be the first smartphone in India to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Moreover, the Realme GT 8 Pro could also debut as the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 smartphone.
