Realme Narzo 80x 5G Launched in India With Dimensity 6400 Chip, 120Hz Display, and Rugged Design

Realme has introduced the Narzo 80x 5G, a mid-range smartphone with some notable firsts for its segment.

Priced starting at ₹11,999, the device was unveiled alongside the Narzo 80 Pro 5G and will be available on April 11, with sales beginning at 6 PM on realme.com and Amazon India.

Comes With MediaTek Dimensity 6400

One of the more interesting things about the Narzo 80x 5G is that it's the first phone to ship with MediaTek’s new Dimensity 6400 processor. Built on a 6nm process, the chip is designed to balance 5G support with decent day-to-day performance.

While this won’t compete with higher-end chips, it should handle regular usage—social media, video streaming, and casual gaming—without much trouble.

Eye Comfort Takes Center Stage

The phone has a 6.5-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Realme is pushing its “Eye Comfort Display” label here, adding features like DC dimming, bedtime mode, and even a paper-like mode to reduce eye fatigue.

Whether these make a significant difference in practice will depend on how sensitive you are to screen strain, but it’s good to see these kinds of features filtering down to affordable phones.

Built to Survive More Than Just a Drop

In a move that’s unusual for the price range, the Narzo 80x 5G comes with an IP69 rating, meaning it’s certified to resist dust and high-pressure water jets. It also includes something called SonicWave Water Ejection, which vibrates moisture out of the speaker grill after exposure to water.

There's also a Rainwater Smart Touch mode, which supposedly keeps the screen responsive even when wet.

Solid Battery, Cold Weather Charging

The phone packs a 6000mAh battery—big by any standard—and supports 45W fast charging. Interestingly, Realme says the Narzo 80x can charge even in temperatures as low as -10°C, thanks to its Sub-Zero Charge tech. For users in colder climates, that could be a meaningful addition.

Camera and Build

The rear houses a 50MP AI camera, which will likely be adequate for daytime photography and social media use. On the design front, Realme offers vegan leather finishes in Deep Ocean and Sunlit Gold, with a textured back meant to give the phone a bit of a premium feel.

Pricing and Availability

The Realme Narzo 80x 5G is priced at ₹13,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model is available at ₹14,999. The device is offered in Deep Ocean and Sunlit Gold color options. Sales commence on April 11 from 6 PM onwards via realme.com and Amazon India.
