Realme X Gets Dark Mode Toggle, November Security Patch Via New Update

Realme has started dishing out a new firmware update for its mid-range smartphone called the Realme X. The device was launched back in July this year and has received an update recently (with September security patch). The latest update brings the latest Android security patch in addition to some new features. Details are as follows:

Realme X Update Details

The Realme X update carries RMX1901EX_11_A.10 firmware build. The update is rolling out as OTA (over-the-air) in India. An update notification will be available on the respective units and the mass rollout is expected to be completed in the coming days.

You can check the update manually in from the Software Update section in the settings menu. As for the changelog, the firmware update brings along the November 2019 Android security patch along with some general bug fixes.

The new features introduced include a dark mode toggle which you can locate in the notification center. It brings along a flash notification feature for calls and a fix for volume levels while playing music in the power saving mode (with Dolby off). Also, the issue with the readability of the content of the dialogue box in WhatsApp (with dark mode on) is now fixed.

Realme X Highlight Features

The Realme X offers a 6.53-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels FHD+ resolution and the Corning Gorilla 5 protection. One of the key highlights of this handset is its pop-up selfie camera that houses a 16MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.

At the rear, there is a dual-lens camera setup equipped with a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The secondary 5MP sensor is used for depth mapping. The smartphone gets its power from an octa-core Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with Adreno 616 GPU.

The device comes with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. It boots on Android Pie OS with a Color OS 6 skin on top. For security, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner and a Face Unlock feature. Rounding off the specification sheet is a 3,765 mAh battery with VOOV Flash Charge 3.0 support.
