Realme X2 Gets System-Wide Dark Mode, Nightscape For Selfies Via New Update

Realme is gearing up to launch the X2 Pro in India and has released a new update for the standard Realme X2. The Chinese manufacturer has picked up its pace in releasing firmware updates for its smartphones. Until now, a whole bunch of Realme devices including the Realme 5, 3 series, Realme XT, Realme 1, etc. have received the latest Android updates.

The Realme X2 has received a firmware update with an RMX1993EX_11.A.15 build number. It weighs around 2.55GB in size and a notification should be available for users anytime soon. You can also click on this link to download the update package.

Notably, the update is currently rolling out for the users in Europe and the mass rollout is expected to happen in the coming weeks. Alternatively, you can visit the Settings menu and check the update manually, in case you down want to download the package (link shared above).

The major change which this update brings is the system-wide dark mode. Notably, this feature has already been rolled out to the other Realme smartphones including the aforementioned ones.

The update adds the latest Android security patch (October 2019) along with a Nightscape mode for the selfie camera. Now, the device is expected to click better low-light selfies.

Other features introduced are the Realme Laboratory, an updated charging animation, and the ability to expand the notification center or a do global search by swiping down anywhere on the home screen.

The update has removed the reminder after the hotspot was enabled and the prompt while the rooting the device. It has also optimized the partial AF out of focus issue.

Realme X2 Specs And Features

The Realme X2 is also known as the Realme XT in India in the Indian market. The device features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels FHD+ resolution and the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Its primary highlight is quad-rear cameras with a 64MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. Other sensors include an 8MP wide-angle sensor with an f/2.25 aperture, a 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.

It packs a 32MP camera upfront with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. Powering the handset is a Snapdragon 730G game-centric chipset clubbed with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The unit gets its fuel from 4,000 mAh battery with a 30W VOOC flash charge.
