Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 12 Android smartphone in India. Not to be confused with the Redmi Note 12 series, the latest Redmi smartphone belongs to the budget-friendly series and succeeds the Redmi 11 launched last year.

Xiaomi Redmi 12 4G and Redmi 12 5G Price In India

There are two variants of the Xiaomi Redmi 12. The 4G-only Redmi 12 will be available in two iterations. The 4GB + 128GB model of the Redmi 12 4G has been priced at ₹9,999. However, the effective price of the 4GB/128GB variant of Redmi 12 4G will is ₹8,999 post bank and exchange offer.

Similarly, after applying the bank offer, the effective cost of the 6GB + 128GB variant of the Redmi 12 4G is ₹10,499. Without bank offers and exchange bonuses, the price of the Redmi 12 4G 6GB+128GB variant is ₹11,499.

The 5G-enabled Xiaomi Redmi 12 will be available in three iterations. The 4GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage model of the Redmi 12 5G sports an effective price of ₹10,999. The price is inclusive of the ₹1,000 bank offer. Without any offer, the price is ₹11,999

The effective price of the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage model of the Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G will be ₹12,499. The most expensive model of the Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage will cost ₹14,499. Without offers, the prices of these models are ₹13,499 and ₹15,499 respectively.

Xiaomi Redmi 12 Specifications, Features

The Xiaomi Redmi 12 Android smartphone features a 6.79-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD screen. The 1080p display has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.

The Xiaomi Redmi 12 4G model is powered by the Mediatek Helio G88 SoC. The Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G, on the other hand, is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC.

The Redmi 12 smartphone features a "glass design back", which Xiaomi claims is a first for a Redmi smartphone. The Redmi 12's glass back offers best-in-class protection against scratches, the company has claimed.

Coming to the imaging department, the Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G features a dual camera setup on the back, headlined by a 50MP camera and accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The Redmi 12 gets an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies, video calls, and face unlock.

Interestingly, the Redmi 12 4G has a triple camera setup on the back, headlined by a 50 MP wide-angle lens, a dedicated ultra-wide-angle lens, and a macro lens. This variant has an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies, just like the 5G model. Xiaomi claims these Redmi smartphones feature a camera film filter. They also get the Xiaomi 13 Pro's portrait mode processing prowess.

The Redmi 12 Android smartphones pack a 5,000mAh battery, with support for 18W fast charging via the USB type-C port. There's a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi 12 smartphones run on Android 13-based MIUI 14, and ship with MIUI launcher. They have an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance.
