Redmi 12 Price, Sale Date, And Unboxing Video Leaked: Budget Smartphone May Launch This Month?

Xiaomi should launch Redmi 12, a budget smartphone that's not to be confused with the Redmi Note 12 series. The device has been surfacing on multiple databases recently, indicating Xiaomi is ready to launch the Redmi 12.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 12C last year. It appears the company will launch the Redmi 12 in multiple markets, including India. A new leak claims to reveal the retail pricing, final specifications, features, and even the launch period of the Redmi 12.

Redmi 12 Final Specifications, Features Leaked

Redmi 12, bearing model number 23053RN02L, was spotted on Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification database. Thereafter, Xiaomi listed the Redmi 12 smartphone on its official website in Portugal.

According to the listing, the Redmi 12 has a 6.79-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The latest leak adds the smartphone has a punch-hole cutout at the center for the 8MP front-facing camera.

The Redmi 12 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 SoC, which means the smartphone is limited to 4G networks and is not 5G enabled. The budget chipset, which has a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, is paired with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM.

Buyers get to choose between 128GB and 256GB of internal storage. There could be a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding onboard storage.

Xiaomi has embedded a triple camera setup on the back of the Redmi 12, which is headlined by a 50MP primary camera. There's an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a LED flash on the back as well.

As mentioned above, the Redmi smartphone has an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies, video calls, and face unlock. There's also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

Xiaomi has embedded a 5000mAh battery inside the Redmi 12, which supports 18W wired fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The device supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.1.

The Redmi 12 would boot Android 13-based MIUI 14 out of the box. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, claims the leak.

The Redmi 12 weighs around 200 grams and measures 168.60 X 76.28 X 8.17mm. Although the listing doesn't seem to mention it, the Redmi 12 should run Android 13 with MIUI 14 custom layer.

Redmi 12 Pricing, Launch Period, And Availability Leaked

The latest leak about the Redmi 12 claims the smartphone may launch in the next 10 days and will go on sale immediately after. In other words, Xiaomi may start selling the Redmi 12 before June 2023 ends.

The report reveals that the Redmi 12 be priced at $155 (approx. ₹12,790). Needless to say, this aggressive price could be valid for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

If the aforementioned pricing is true, then the 8GB + 256GB variant of Redmi 12 could be priced at €209.99 (approx. ₹18,700).

The Redmi 12 smartphone will launch in Blue, Black, and Silver colors. Xiaomi is calling these colors Sky Blue, Midnight Black, and Polar Silver, according to the leak. The company is expected to make a formal announcement confirming the existence of Redmi 12.
