Redmi 12C: New Variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB Storage Introduced in India

Redmi, a well-known smartphone brand recognized for its affordable yet feature-packed devices, introduced the Redmi 12C in India earlier this year. This budget-friendly smartphone initially offered two storage options: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.

Despite a few minor drawbacks, we found the device to be satisfactory in our review. Now, Redmi has expanded its lineup by introducing a new variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, giving users even more choices to suit their needs.

An Overview of the Redmi 12C

The Redmi 12C made its debut in China in December 2022 before hitting the Indian market in March this year. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC with eight cores and is equipped with a generous 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W wired charging, allowing users to stay connected throughout the day without worrying about battery life.

Storage Variants and Pricing

The Redmi 12C was initially introduced with two storage variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. Recently, Redmi India introduced a new variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. This new variant is priced at ₹9,999, offering an attractive balance between storage capacity and affordability. The base variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at ₹8,999, while the higher-end variant with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at ₹10,999.

Display, Software, and Connectivity

Featuring a 6.71-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, the Redmi 12C offers an immersive visual experience for multimedia consumption and gaming. The display has a 60Hz refresh rate and an aspect ratio of 20:9, providing a decent viewing experience for everyday use.

The device runs on Android 12 with MIUI 13 skin out-of-the-box, delivering a user-friendly interface and a range of customization options. It supports dual nano SIM card support, enabling users to stay connected on multiple networks simultaneously. In terms of connectivity, the Redmi 12C offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and includes a micro-USB port for charging and data transfer.

The Redmi 12C sports a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP sensor. At the front, there is a 5MP sensor housed within a waterdrop notch.
