Redmi 15 5G Officially Teased to Launch in India, Leaked Specs Reveal 7000mAh Battery, 144Hz Display, and More
Xiaomi has officially started teasing the Redmi 15 5G for the Indian market, though it hasn’t revealed much beyond a few battery-related claims. A teaser image posted online shows a side profile of the device and highlights its supposed efficiency—up to 7.5 hours of standby time on just 1% battery.
While Xiaomi is keeping most details under wraps for now, an unofficial image leak has surfaced online (via), revealing nearly all the core specifications. The device is expected to launch in early August, with availability via Amazon.in, mi.com, and offline retail stores.

Leaked Specs Point to Large Display and High Refresh Rate
According to the leak, the Redmi 15 5G will feature a 6.9-inch Full HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, suggesting Xiaomi is aiming for a fluid user experience even in the budget segment.
It’s expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, a mid-tier processor aimed at delivering reliable performance. Memory options are tipped to include 6GB or 8GB of RAM, paired with 128GB or 256GB of storage, respectively.
Battery Life Could Be a Key Focus
Xiaomi’s teaser is clearly emphasizing battery efficiency, and that’s backed up by the leak, which claims the phone will pack a 7000mAh battery—among the largest in this price segment. Paired with 33W fast charging, the device could appeal to users who prioritize endurance over bleeding-edge performance.
The claimed 7.5 hours of standby on 1% charge is more about marketing than real-world usage, but it does signal the company’s focus on optimization and power management.
Basic Camera Setup, Some Durability Promised
On the optics front, the Redmi 15 5G may offer a 50MP main rear camera, along with a 2MP secondary sensor. An 8MP front camera is expected for selfies and video calls.
As for build, the phone is tipped to come with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. NFC is listed as a feature in some markets, but it may be absent in the Indian variant.
Pricing Expectations
In markets like Malaysia, the phone has reportedly been priced at around RM 699 (~USD 165) for the 8GB + 256GB model. Based on Xiaomi’s pricing strategy, we can expect the Indian variant to start under ₹15,000.
Multiple variants are likely to be offered, which would help Xiaomi cover a broader price spectrum under the Redmi branding.
