Redmi 17 5G with 7,900mAh Battery, 120Hz Display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, HyperOS 3 Launched in India

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 17 5G in India, bringing a large display, a massive battery and 5G connectivity to its budget-focused smartphone lineup. The phone also packs a high-refresh-rate display, Snapdragon chipset and Xiaomi HyperOS 3.

The Redmi 17 5G price in India starts at ₹23,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM variant costs ₹26,999.

The smartphone will go on sale from September 10 through Amazon India, Xiaomi's website and retail stores. It will be available in Black, Blue and Orange vegan leather finishes.

The Redmi 17 5G features a 6.9-inch LCD display with 1600 x 720 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It offers up to 825 nits brightness in high-brightness mode and comes with TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free operation and circadian-friendly viewing.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, clocked at up to 2.4GHz. It comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, with up to 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. Storage can be expanded by up to 2TB using a microSD card.

The biggest highlight is the 7,900mAh battery, which supports 45W turbo charging and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi claims up to 109 hours of music playback, 28 hours of video playback and 53 hours of calling.

The phone also features dual stereo speakers with a 300% volume boost, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Gorilla Glass 7i protection and an IP64 rating. Wet Touch technology allows the screen to respond to wet or oily fingers. Adding a distinctive touch, the rear panel features a customisable dynamic RGB light for notifications, charging status and camera alerts.
