Xiaomi’s Ultra-Affordable Smartphone, the Redmi A3, Sale in India is Live via Flipkart

Xiaomi's ultra-budget smartphone is now available for purchase in India. The Redmi A3 was unveiled earlier this month in India's entry-level segment and goes up against the likes of the Lava Yuva 3, itel P55, and Infinix SMART 8 HD.

The Redmi A3 ups the ante from last year's Redmi A2, delivering excellent value for its price. The Redmi A3 features a MediaTek chipset, a large battery with USB Type-C charging, a smooth display, and "Premium Halo Design".

Redmi A3 Sale, Pricing in India

The Redmi A3 sale in India is live via Flipkart, mi.com, and Xiaomi retail stores. The Redmi A3 price in India is set at Rs 7,299 for the base 3GB/64GB model. Moreover, the handset will also be offered in 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB configurations that will set you back Rs 8,299 and Rs 9,299, respectively.

The Redmi A3 is offered in Olive Green, Midnight Black, and Lake Blue color options. Additionally, the Olive Green option features a leather texture finish as opposed to glass on the other two variants.

Redmi A3 Specifications

Xiaomi's entry-level smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Moreover, the Redmi A3 also has a dedicated microSD card slot to support up to 1TB of storage expansion. The phone is expected to run Android 14 out of the box, although it could be the Go Edition of the operating system.

On the back, the Redmi A3 features an 8 MP rear camera with a secondary AI lens and LED Flash. Up front, Redmi's budget smartphone opts for a 5 MP selfie camera. The handset packs a 5,000 mAh battery with a 10W USB Type-C adapter bundled in the box.

The Redmi A3 also sports a 6.71-inch HD+ (1650 x 720 pixels) LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and has a waterdrop style notch. For security, the Redmi A3 opts for a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, 4G, Dual SIM, and more.
