Redmi A5 4G with 5,200mAh Battery Launched – Will It Debut in India as POCO C71?

Xiaomi has quietly introduced the Redmi A5 4G in Bangladesh, and it’s already available in stores. The phone’s affordable pricing and solid specs make it an interesting option in the budget segment. But what’s interesting is the possibility that this device could launch in India as the POCO C71.

Pricing and Variants

The Redmi A5 4G comes in two storage options:

• 4GB RAM + 64GB storage – BDT 10,999 (₹7,855)
• 6GB RAM + 128GB storage – BDT 12,999 (₹9,283)

The phone offers four color choices: Black, Beige, Blue, and Green.

Decent Specs for the Price

At this price point, the 6.88-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate is a standout feature. Smooth scrolling isn’t common in entry-level devices, making it a nice touch. Under the hood, the Unisoc T7250 chipset powers the phone. While not a performance beast, it should handle daily tasks like social media, web browsing, and basic gaming.

Camera, Battery, and Design

The Redmi A5 4G is equipped with a 32MP AI rear camera and an 8MP front camera—pretty standard for budget phones. Powering the device is a 5,200mAh battery with 18W fast charging support (though Xiaomi only includes a 15W charger in the box).

Design-wise, the AG frosted glass back gives it a more premium feel, and the side-mounted fingerprint sensor adds convenience.

Will It Launch as POCO C71 in India?

Xiaomi often rebrands Redmi phones under the POCO name in India. Given that the Redmi A4 4G turned into the POCO C75, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Redmi A5 4G became the POCO C71. If it does, it could be one of the more affordable 4G smartphones in India this year.
