Redmi and Airtel have partnered once again to bring a new “exclusive” phone deal to India. The Redmi A5 Airtel Exclusive Edition is now official, following last year’s A4 variant. And just like before, the bigger story here isn’t about brand-new hardware, but about the conditions tied to the offer.

What Makes It “Exclusive”

To get this edition, you’ll need to use an Airtel prepaid SIM and keep it active with at least a ₹299 Truly Unlimited plan recharge for 18 months. Stick with that and you’ll get a couple of perks: a 7.5 percent discount on the phone’s sticker price (capped at ₹750) and 50GB of extra data thrown in.

Hardware Rundown

In terms of specs, this edition doesn’t change anything compared to the standard A5. You’re still looking at a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling. Redmi has also kept TÜV certifications in place for low blue light and flicker-free usage.

Under the hood is a Unisoc T7250 chip clocked up to 1.8GHz. The device runs Android 15 out of the box, with Redmi promising two years of OS updates and four years of security patches.

For cameras, there’s a 32MP AI dual setup on the back and an 8MP selfie shooter up front. Power comes from a 5200mAh battery that supports 15W charging.
