Redmi A5 Spotted on IMEI Database, India Launch Likely Soon – Here’s What to Expect
The Redmi A4 5G was launched in India last year priced at just Rs 8,499. Now, Xiaomi's sub-brand seems to be launching the successor of the Redmi A4 5G dubbed -- the Redmi A5 soon in the country.
Now, the Redmi A5 has appeared on the IMEI database, hinting at an imminent launch. Here's what to expect from the upcoming Redmi A5.

Redmi A5 India Launch Likely Soon
Tipster Erencan Yılmaz(@erenylmaz075) spotted the Redmi A5 on the IMEI database with the model number 25028RN03Y. The tipster claimed that it will be launched in both Indian and global markets. He further added that there will also be a POCO variant of the phone.
As of now, there are no details about the upcoming Redmi A5. We expect to get more information in the coming days. To recall, the predecessor Redmi A4 5G (Review) was launched with a 6.88-inch HD+ (720x1640 pixels) LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset is powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card slot.
For optics, the Redmi A4 5G features a 50MP dual rear camera system and a 5MP selfie camera. It also packs a 5,160mAh battery with 18W charging. On the software front, the phone runs on Android 14 with Xiaomi's HyperOS and is confirmed to get two years of software updates and four years of security patches.
